Vice President & Head of Data is an incredibly exciting new role within Volvo Penta to support our digital transformation by helping us make changes in the way we use data and insights across the organization, not only to continue working with data platforms & analytics; data management and governance; information security & data privacy but also to take the next step in our strategic direction, incorporating business value of data, AI and Machine Learning.


As Vice President & Head of Data you will be part of Volvo Penta Digital & IT Management Team and report to Volvo Penta SVP Chief Digital Officer.
The ideal candidate is an innovative data driven leader with strategical thinking and pragmatic approach; with strong business understanding and learning and exploring mindset.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Interacts and collaborates closely with Volvo Penta Digital & IT Management Team and other business stakeholders to create a data driven vision & strategy for the organization, and to identify the opportunities, capabilities, and solutions.
Leads the creation of a digital & data roadmap to advance the vision and strategy for core business processes while remaining aligned with the Volvo Group architecture and technology platforms.
Acts as a champion and change agent in leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain enterprise-wide data capabilities.
Leading the team - five direct reports as employees, four in-house consultants, and additional deliveries provided by Volvo Group Digital & IT.



QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Academic education in fields of Engineering, Data Science, Informatics or equivalent.
Minimum 10 years of experience in related fields including leading teams and organizations through similar transformations.
Strong technical, analytical foundation and passion for the area of Data Analytics, Data Management, AI, Cyber Security.
Good knowledge of tools, platforms, and providers in the Data area.
Experienced leader and team player that thrives by building and supporting colleagues both in own team and with stakeholders across various levels in the organization.
Experienced communicator with proven ability to articulate/be evangelist for data driven ways of working.



Location would ideally be in Gothenburg, but for this position, we are open to candidates with residence elsewhere, with the possibility to spend on average 3 days per week in and around the office in Gothenburg.
