The role
Plasman Europe is expanding, and we can guarantee that this job will be challenging, developing and that your footprints will leave your mark in many areas
The Vice President, Human Resources Europe will take on responsibility for developing a comprehensive human capital strategy for Plasman’s European operations with 6 manufacturing plants (Gothenburg, Simrishamn, Gent, Raufoss, Strakonice, Carregado) and 2 high functioning engineering and administration offices. In addition we have had strong years of Business Awards and we are currently in detail planning for a large new Green Field Operation in Eastern Europe. You are an important cog in our work to develop both our employees and our business – an independent unit in a global company. As you have taken part in a similar development journey earlier in your career, we think that there is a lot in place for your experience and expertise to help lift us further.
As an engaged member of the Executive European Leadership Team, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, you will work closely with management colleagues in defining and executing overall business strategy, and ensuring cross-departmental co-operation. There are local HR managers reporting with dotted line to the VP HR Europe, and also direct reporting HRBPs. This position will require travel about 30% of the time. You will collaborate with all Plasman management teams and build a close strategic partnership to Plasman North America HR.
Responsibilities
The Vice President Human Resources will take on a leadership role in executing tasks and projects in the following key areas:
You will generate an impact and drive the change! You believe that HR should have a strong role in the company and you have the communication skills to impact
You are responsible for developing and maintaining a HR business plan with detailed priorities, timing, and resources
Evaluate, update, manage and report on a comprehensive total rewards plan for European operations
Foster a company culture of diversity, teamwork and constant improvement prioritizing the execution of agreed upon initiatives with focus on key areas such as talent management, employee engagement, learning & development and workforce planning
Promote and support employee wellness in all its forms including an ongoing focus on employee mental health risk management
Leadership role on the Social component in the comprehensive and long-term Plasman ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) Program
The ideal candidate profile
A strong conviction and a drive to perform at a high level as well as bringing genuine curiosity, diplomacy, pragmatism, openness to learning, humbleness and modesty to fit well with the Plasman culture and environment
10+ years senior HR leadership experience gained within an international, fast paced and growing company, preferably from the manufacturing sector (and ideally from automotive)
Academic degree in HR or equivalent professional experience
Excellent language skills in English (English is the primary language)
Strategic, but also willing and able to get involved tactically
Structured and good at building clear HR, decision-making and follow-up processes
Experience helping to scale a multi-divisional business to accommodate significant growth and concordance
Experience helping a company grow effectively through organic growth and acquisition
Exposure to progressive labour relations practices
Very strong communication, presentation and relationship building skills
As a person: you are creative, innovative and passionate about your profession; a high energy self-starter who leads by example
