Truecaller is a Swedish company founded in 2009 in Stockholm, Sweden by Nami Zarringhalam and Alan Mamedi. The app began when our Co-Founders, as students, wanted to create a service that would easily identify incoming calls from unknown numbers. Today, Truecaller is loved by over 270 million monthly active users around the world and is the leading app for Caller ID and spam blocking. Our strongest presence is in South Asia, Middle East, Africa, and our HQ is in Sweden. We are backed by some of the most prominent investors in the world such as Sequoia Capital, Atomico, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
As Vice President of Business Development you will be working out of our HQ in Stockholm, Sweden and reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. As this is a leadership role, you will be expected to lead a team of driven and high performing individuals. In addition, you must build and maintain a healthy relationship with both technical and non-technical members inside and outside the company.
Your mission - We are looking for a well networked business development leader to help us grow our business development and partnership efforts across India, South East Asia (Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand & affiliated countries) and Middle East - North Africa regions.
Your responsibilities:
Business Development responsibilities comprising the mandate of on boarding partners across,
Smartphone brands
Telecom Service Providers
Data partners
Google partnership: Google and Truecaller have partnered across important mandates like Programmatic, Cloud and Google for Business. You shall work with both the internal team of Truecaller and also with respective stakeholders in Google to enhance the relationship levels
Google play: work in close tandem with the playstore team to enable our app gets featured regularly in playstore and ensure there is continuous cross collaboration in google play efforts in the region
Apple and Microsoft: as other two important ecosystem holders, enhance and maintain relationship to drive potential business partnerships (IOS app store promo) and various Microsoft business products
VAS partners: engage closely and strike multiple layer of partnerships with VAS players in the region who are key to offer better spread in SEA regions (wherever applicable)
Business performance: work and interpret internal analytics dashboard and other external analytics tools (faceBook and google) to monitor performance of the app in the specified regions of operations
Your skills and background
15 plus years of proven track record in business development & building partnerships
Ideally working in telecom or top line Smartphone brands
Past experience in navigating complex vendor or partner relationships
Extensive experience in working closely with global smartphone brands
Clear understanding of how OEM and telco eco system works
Good analytical skills in looking at trends and interpretation of such data sources
