This is us, a new unit with Passion for Chassis business Business Unit Chassis is a new Business Unit at Volvo Buses with the End-to-End responsibility for Volvo Buses’ Chassis business, globally! Headquarters are located in Gothenburg while we have a commercial presence in Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa, UK & Ireland and Latin America. The Business Unit employs approximately 800 people covering the whole value chain e.g. Product Management, Sales, Operations, Service Market and Business Office.
Service Market develops and drives the service commercialization and service market support for Business Unit Chassis, with the objective to make service market operations a key competitive advantage. As the Vice President Service Market you will lead a team of service market experts and report directly to the Senior Vice President Business Unit Chassis.
This is your role As Vice President Service Market you will be responsible for setting the vision and direction of Service Market in Business Unit Chassis, positioning Service Market as a key competitive advantage and growth driver. You will lead and structure the strategic plan and set priorities to improve the network set-up, drive efficiencies aligned with overall strategy, and increase Volvo Buses attractiveness to dealers and partners.
The target is to develop and deliver a profitable service sales business across Business Unit Chassis, which requires that you meet with customers and in-depth understand their operations, businesses and future needs. You will be responsible for driving the service commercialization and service offerings related to spare parts sales, connected services and service offerings, and will be accountable for all service operations. You will also be responsible for developing the service culture and competence in Business Unit Chassis, as well as driving dealer, logistic, quality and technical support strategies.
You will be the Service Market representative for Business Unit Chassis towards Global Functions and global governance i.e. act as the bridge between cluster organization and central functions for Service Market related areas.
Other key responsibilities will be: Develop a profitable and sustainable service contract portfolio by securing commercial development, needed processes, support structures and development of telematic business Follow-up on Business Unit Chassis quality cost, technical goodwill budget and reporting on warranty analysis results Engage in retail development, e.g. secure bus service center performance, processes for customer satisfaction, and provide bus service staff and dealer network with updated technical material
Who are you? To enjoy and excel in this role, we believe that you are a person who sees the whole picture, has good networking skills and a strong business and market knowledge. Setting the direction and needed priorities while engaging yourself in the development of your team are natural for you. Customer focus is a must, while commercial skills as well as tender support knowledge are a merit.
We believe you have the following knowledge/experience: University/Master’s degree in relevant area – Business and/or Engineering 10 years of senior service market or commercial experience Experience of solution offerings (i.e. product and services combined) Business and market knowledge Customer focus and commercial skills Experience in Volvo systems, Volvo dealerships and the service sales area within Volvo is preferred Tender business knowledge Fluent in written and spoken English General knowledge of retail development is an advantage
