Vice President Sustainability – Volvo Penta

Volvo Penta’s commitment to sustainability and the Science Based Target (SBT) program leads us on an exciting Transformation journey where we will explore and develop within areas of electromobility, automation, connectivity and other new technology areas.
In order to grow and excel within the challenges related to sustainability, we aim to expand our organization with a person to take the lead. As Vice President Sustainability, you will develop and implement Volvo Penta’s sustainability program and will be an important sounding board to the management team in all matters relating to sustainability.
Setting the sustainability governance together with management team, including coordination and governance of CSR related topics
Build and lead a cross-functional network within Volvo Penta’s organization for sustainability
Build strategic relationship regarding sustainability with key stakeholders, as key customers, NGO’s, Universities, suppliers, etc.
Be a spokesperson for Volvo Penta regarding sustainability
Ensure target alignment between Volvo Penta sustainability strategy & plan and Volvo Penta strategy roadmaps
Establish, challenge, follow up and communicate measurable performance metrics and targets for sustainability
Develop ways of working on sustainability strategy and targets
Be a coach and sparring partner for Volvo Penta’s organizations, by providing sustainability expertise to develop our frameworks, designs, and collaborations
Keep up to date on BI and emerging trends in sustainability area
The VP Sustainability will be located in Gothenburg, Sweden and report to Peter Hertinge, SVP Global Operations & Quality. You will be part of the Global Operations & Quality management team.
Qualifications
To succeed in this position a curious and visionary mindset is required, as well as the ability to engage and challenge key stakeholders in the implementation and development of the sustainability strategy.
In-depth knowledge of sustainability in the field of environment, circularity, CSR and social equality, with good understanding of trends and concepts
Proven track record of success in leading corporate sustainability programs/projects
Experience from working in an international and technology driven company
Purpose driven with analytical and strategic skills, and with a good business understanding
Ability to manage ambiguity, complexity and risks while maintaining a structured way of working and understanding interdependencies
Experience from working cross both functions and borders, with capability to engage and build trustful relationships
Curious and empowering with excellent skills at driving behavioral changes
Excellent ability to communicate, explain and motivate
Master of Science degree within relevant field
