Vice President Truck Sales & Marketing for Sales Area Volvo Trucks Europe South & West.
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Sales Area Management team, as we are recruiting for the role of Vice President, Truck Sales & Marketing.

Volvo Trucks Europe South & West is responsible for sales and marketing activities in 8 countries in total, covering 4 markets, Italy, France, Spain & UK and our Private Importer organization, Portugal, Greece, Israel, and Palestine. The HQ of Volvo Trucks Europe South & West is located in Gothenburg.

As VP Trucks Sales & Marketing, you will play an integral part of steering this transformation journey by developing strategic initiatives that drive business performance in order to realize our objectives, in cooperation with colleagues throughout the whole value chain.


The mission


As Vice President Sales & Marketing for Volvo Trucks South & West, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and governance of Total Offer approach, Product Sales (hard and soft), Price (margin), S&OP, Brand Image and Market Share.


You will capture the growth opportunities with a proactive sales strategy and increasing our insight driven selling skills. The mission is to secure profitability over the business cycle whilst ensuring customer satisfaction within Volvo Trucks South & West.


You will be responsible for consolidated P&L and drive profitability development, realize on our sustainability targets and growth for new trucks. By driving the long-term sales strategy, you will grow the business.


You will optimize market performance (e.g. order intake, market share, gross profit, inventory, sustainability/VECTO and customer satisfaction), Used Trucks (Sales & profitability) and you will challenge sales efficiency in the markets.


Your responsibility includes steering and coaching the truck sales network with markets with collaboration with our Regional Value Chain (RVC). Securing the right level of market support is essential by prioritizing market requests and needs towards RVC.


You will support South & West, influencing the transformation towards CO2 reduction, drive sales of EMOB, LNG and improving efficiency of current diesel specifications.


In this role, you will also prepare our SVP with sales area priorities for IT and Product Board submission to reflect the key needs of our markets.


With engagement and your communication, you will realise our vision and lead activities to improve customer satisfaction and the organisations’ efforts to support the success of our customers.


You will be a present leader who enables the development, by stretching and relevant objectives and follows up on performance, supporting and coaching, with the aim of creating the right environment for the team to bring their best.


Qualifications and critical competencies for this position
Extensive understanding of Volvo Trucks Businesses
Extensive experience in business sales management with customer and commercial oriented mind-set
Successful people & cultural leadership, demonstrating a high competence in our Volvo Group Leadership principles
Broad generalist profile with cross-functional background, especially with product, application and segmentation knowledge
Previous experience in remarketing and/or used trucks is a plus
Excellent communicator with ability to influence & negotiate with broad cross section of stakeholders
Able to demonstrate a clear vision, global mind-set and translate into tangible deliverables
Ability to work successfully in a global organization and intercultural context.
Exposure to Lean principles would be an advantage
