Job Description
Introduction

You have proven experience in the analysis and processing of video surveillance data within a national or international institution or a large private group (bank, insurance, etc.). Are you familiar with investigative techniques, IT tools, rules relating to the protection and confidentiality of personal data? If so, this could be the ideal challenge for you. Come and work at CERN, the world's largest particle physics research laboratory, as a Video Surveillance Data Analyst.

As a Video Surveillance Data Analyst, you will work in the Site and Civil Engineering department, which is responsible of managing and developing CERN's real estate assets and infrastructures, as well as all the services related to the caretaking and operation of the CERN site. The department is also responsible for ensuring the safety of all persons entering the Organisation, as well as the Organisation's properties.

Functions

Under the supervision of CERN's Head of Security, you will provide him/her with analyses on request, based on computer data made available to you by the Organisation.

You will have to:
-Perform analysis on requests, providing technical elements, and drafting reports while respecting the utmost confidentiality.
-Actively participate in the risk analysis of buildings and sites.
-Propose optimisation measures for the automation of searches or the video surveillance system, including technology survey.
-Work in close collaboration with other departments within the Organisation.
-Check continuously that the procedures implemented comply with CERN Data Privacy standards.
-Periodically check the proper functioning of the entire video systems.
-Be able to direct the activity of the operator in charge of the Access Control Centre, particularly in the event of exceptional situations.
-Be responsible of the quality control activity of the guarding contract.
-Participate in meetings of the security service and contribute to diverse actions and projects of the service.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Law, Investigation or a related field.

Experience:
The experience required for this position is as follows:
-Significant experience in the management and exploitation of computer data (video and data) in order to solve investigations in the field of security.
-Significant experience in the field of investigation and intelligence gathering within a national or international institution or a large private group (bank, insurance company etc.).

The following would be considered an advantage:
-IT qualifications.
-International experience or experience in a multicultural environment.
-Experience in an operational control room.

-Use of office software packages: expertise in IT tools.
-Information and Communication Technologies; Information analysis.
-Investigative skills.

Language skills:
Spoken and written English or French: ability to draw up technical texts in one of the two languages, as well as ability to understand and speak the other language in professional contexts, or the undertaking to acquire it rapidly.

Employment Conditions

Contract type: Limited duration contract (2 years). Subject to certain conditions, holders of limited-duration contracts may apply for an indefinite position.

These functions require:
-Work in Radiation Areas.
-Interventions in underground installations.
-A valid driving licence is required.
-Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.
-Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization.
