Role is within the group CB74330, Engine Testing Development, as a member of the Virtual Testing development team. The agile development team is responsible for supplying Virtual Testing Environments to the powertrain development projects at Volvo Penta with the purpose of increasing testing efficiency and product quality.
PURPOSE
Virtual Testing Environment – Real Time Simulation Engineer
The purpose of this role is to drive the competence development of Powertrain Real Time Simulation models at Volvo Penta. As part of the Virtual Testing Environment (VIRTEC) development team you are responsible for the development and integration of Real-Time Simulation models on the system. The role demands an energetic and forward thinking attitude in order to stay ahead of both the technology and the fast pace of the industry.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years of experience using Gamma GT-Power for developing Powertrain 1-D engine models
Be pro-active and good in communication skills
Experience of GT-Power FRM Converter, FRM Builder and xRT advantegous but not required
Experience of Real-Time test systems (e.g. Hardware In Loop) advantegous but not required
RESPONSIBILITY & MAIN TASKS
Responsible for development of Engine & Aftertreatment Real Time models within the VIRTEC Development team
Work closely with CAE Simulation department to share ideas for improving model quality aspects
Active team member in development of the systems to improve short term and long term use and experience for test engineers.
Networking with the Volvo group – Penta specific specialist within the field of Real Time Simulation Models, Virtual Test Management & Virtual Product Development.
Active team member as part of the scrum and agile methodology.
User and test engineer training within the network of engine testing and Virtual test environment.
