We are at the beginning of a new journey to try something different at IKEA. You see, we constantly challenge ourselves to become greater home furnishing experts. We have therefore created this opportunity for you and us to take IKEA to the next level. We want you to be part of a tight team of interior design, interior decorating, visual merchandising, or graphic communication. Your mission will be to inspire customers with home furnishing solutions that appeal to the dreams, needs and wallets of the many people.
You will alternate between 3 different scenarios. It can be either on-going work within the communication and interior design department (Com&In) of the store you are based in, or it can be you contributing to another store in your region, and it can also be you being an important part of a larger project in an IKEA market outside your region.
Your scenario will be determined by what is happening in the fast-paced Swedish IKEA retail market. You will get the chance of learning and meeting various parts of IKEA and your talents within your field will become both deeper and wider.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You are creative, willing to learn and work with colleagues, eager to create an inspiring range of presentations and solutions, always with the IKEA conceptual framework as a guiding star. You bring your talent, your curiosity and home furnishing passion, we add on the IKEA concept and together we take IKEA and you to the next level.
Your main tasks will be offering our visitors the most inspiring shopping experience, meaning working with interior design in room settings, shop design and visual merchandising, while always presenting our range in a commercial and inspiring way. The purpose of all the work you will do is to appeal to the needs and dreams of the many people. You will plang and draw inspiration in our systems to build it up it in the store. So to sum it up, the role involves both work at the desk but also practical work out in the store.
When working in your home store Com&In (Communication & Interior design department) you will collaborate a lot with colleagues in your department as well as all other functions in the store, you see it is in this intersection we together create not only esthetically appealing solutions but also commercial and easily maintainable, we are after all in the retail business. This gives an opportunity for you to deepen your expertise even further and become more commercial.
When supporting other stores in your region you will assist where needed, so it might be that you are collaborating within your competence but in areas that are new to you. This presents an opportunity to widen your expertise considerably.
When you are involved in projects outside your region you will get an opportunity to both share and receive new influences and networks, both within and outside your field of expertise. You will spend a lot of close time with new colleagues and really get to know them in depth, colleagues who might even become dear friends. This gives an opportunity to develop valuable networks, accelerate your personal development and widen as well as deepen your current expertise considerably.


You will initially get an IKEA introduction and training to complement your current education and experience.


You will be a full-time employee, mostly working office hours, however sometimes it might include evenings, weekends, and hotel breakfasts.


If you have future ambitions to eventually work internationally then this experience will be of great value to you. You will get valuable national networking opportunities that will add additional value to your experience and development.
