Arbetsbeskrivning
Would you like to work in the borderland between product development and sales? Do you have a passion for creativity and visualisation? Do you want to work in an experienced and dynamic team with highly motivated and skilled colleagues? Then this could be the job for you!
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. The organisation Presales and Sales readiness is driving Scania’s development of presales, sales processes and systems as well as leading introductions of new products and services. Our mission is to make it easy for our customers to buy Scania’s tailor-made solutions.
The team
The visualisation team is part of the Product Information organisation. In total, the group involves 10 people with the task of creating relevant information linked to our product range of trucks and buses. The information, consisting of text and images, supports the sales organisation when explaining the complete offering and the different specification options to the customer.
The visualisation team consists currently of three people. The scope for the team is to create complete 3D models for trucks and buses that form the basis for further visualisations linked to product information, sales training, marketing communication, digital customer events, digital showrooms etc. Visualisation can be anything from schematic illustrations and photorealistic images to digital models. The majority of our visualisation is based on CAD data from the department of Research and Development, R&D.
Within Scania we are confident in the belief that the future will depend on digitalisation. The need of having digital models to use in our sales, presales and communication channels is increasing considerably. To meet this demand we are now looking to expand our visualisation team with one person.
The position
As a Visualisation Engineer your main responsibility will be to create/build complete truck and bus models from the parts and modules we have in our CAD-system. The task includes collecting information from relevant systems and to validate the information with stakeholders from R&D and/or Sales & Marketing.
In this role, you will work cross-functionally and have close contact with R&D, styling and design, as well as various departments within Sales and Marketing such as Product Management, Product Information and Communication.
Since the need for visualisation will come from different areas you will also need to coordinate, prioritise and distribute incoming demands together with the rest of the team.
Your profile
We are looking for a team player who is eager to learn new things and who wants to develop within the visualisation area. You are interested in working with technical matters and like to describe things in a visual way. The work will involve a lot of cross-functional coordination and planning and it is important that you have a strong customer focus in combination with a good ability to communicate, plan, organise and prioritise from a holistic view. We also believe that you have the ability and skills to drive and take lead in the improvement work linked to the group's work processes/working methods.
We think you have experience from working with product development and CAD. You have worked with Product Data Management (PDM), in systems like OAS & Catia or similar.
Previous experience from working with visualisation in systems like VRED and DeltaGen would be beneficial and if you have additional skills within using software such as Unreal and Unity we see that as an advantage.
Furthermore, we believe that you have a significant interest in the automotive industry and if you also have specific knowledge linked to Scania's trucks and buses, this is seen as a merit.
What we offer
Scania’s culture is characterized by openness, diversity and respect for the individual. The people who work here are our most important asset, so we will invest in you to help you grow with us. As a Scania employee, you are offered several benefits in addition to personal and professional development opportunities. These benefits include mutual bonus, leasing car, occupational pension and flexible working hours which support work-life-balance.
