Assignment Description:
We are looking for a Senior VMware System Administrator to join our dynamic team.
What you will work on:
Provide resource reinforcement as a consultant with expertise in VMware – Storage and Backup skills.
Manage the ongoing basic operation and maintenance of the university’s VMware environment, consisting of 22 VMware hosts and approximately 800 virtual servers.
Oversee the backup system for VMware and Windows file sharing.
Operate and maintain the monitoring system Dell OpenManage.
Collaborate with the university’s IT team to ensure smooth operation and efficient management of the virtualized environment.
Contribute to the stability, security, and performance of the VMware infrastructure.
Support the implementation and execution of backup and storage strategies.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to VMware, storage, and backup systems.
Provide input and recommendations for system improvements and enhancements.

What you bring:
Minimum competence level of 3 with 4-8 years of experience in the field.
Relevant academic training or equivalent knowledge in VMware, storage, and backup systems.
Proven track record of at least 1 year in system responsibility for VMware 7 or later.
At least 1 year of experience with VMware backup solutions.
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with Windows file sharing.
At least 1 year of experience with SAN (Storage Area Network) technologies.
Exhibit strong communication skills in Swedish, both verbally and in written form.
Present a thorough understanding of enterprise backup systems, including experience with Commvault Simpana.
Proficiency in working with vSAN (virtual Storage Area Network) solutions.
Experience working with HPE Alletra or Nimble storage systems.
Familiarity with enterprise environments and their specific requirements.
Hands-on experience with Dell OpenManage for monitoring and management.
Expertise in Windows failover Cluster and DFS (Distributed File System) technologies.
At least two references in the tender appendix, providing details about the companies, contact information, and the nature of the assignments.
