Volvo Group Trucks Technology – Electromobility is the global, strategic center for electrical driveline development within the Volvo Group. Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of Zero emission transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
The Electromobility Charging team is dedicated to providing world class solutions for transferring energy from the grid to the vehicle, delivering end customer value for Volvo business units such as buses, trucks, construction equipment and marine applications. What will you do?
Working within the Electromobility department, you will get all benefits from a large and international company, but also the benefits you find in a creative startup company. We are working in a cross-functional way from hardware concept and design to final verification and implementation in production. To increase our ability to deliver HV hardware we need you as a Hardware Integration Engineer within the Power Conversion team. You will work with many of our skilled engineers to design the HV Hardware for electric vehicles. As an Electrical Component Design Engineer you will:
Ensure that the complete hardware is integrated in an efficient way into the power conversion system, balancing cost, manufacturability and performance.
Concept integration / design of high and low voltage distribution system. The system includes headers, connectors, busbars, harnesses, fuses, contactors, EMC capacitors & ferrites, isolators, fasteners, plastic brackets, cooling and casted housings.
Contribute to the team backlog by writing features and stories.
Actively work with the team’s JIRA backlog during the Program Increment.
Work to enable a good hardware integration to vehicle.
Dive deep into how the system design can be industrialized working with manufacturing engineering and suppliers.
Come up with innovative design ideas and assembly methods that makes our hardware more cost effective and efficient.
Host cross functional HW integration meetings.

Who are you?
We believe that you are a team player who loves to develop electrical driveline components in a customer-oriented context. We believe that you have:
Master of Science in Electrical or Mechatronics engineering or gained equivalent experience from work.
Design experience from CAD-design in Creo and is used to work with packaging in difficult surroundings.
Experience of designing high voltage, high current electrical systems and ingoing components, considering properties such as EMC, arcing, thermal runaway etc.
Strong communication skills and proven collaboration skills.
Good skills in creating structure in work and coordinate deliveries with different stakeholders.
Ideally, you have experience from leading cross-functional meetings and driving them towards fact based decisions. Preferably you also have experience from Electrical vehicle development and knowledge from Volvo HW processes and tools. You like working cross-functional and aim to grow with more responsibility.
