Arbetsbeskrivning
At Sandvik Coromant, we pride ourselves on pushing boundaries and testing limits by rethinking, redefining and redesigning to figure out what’s possible to achieve. We offer a global, innovative and inclusive setting, with passionate minds and industry leading solutions within metal cutting. Just like the rest of Sandvik Group, we’re embarking on a huge growth journey – where M&As will be an integral part of our expansion in the coming years.
In light of this, we’re looking for a resourceful, networking and dynamic doer with a confident mind to take on the exciting position as VP and Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. Are you eager to influence development of our business and engage in project management, financial analysis and M&A execution? Then this is a job for you!
Your mission
As Vice President and Head of M&A, you lead the definition and execution of our M&A growth strategy and agenda together with your team, and you oversee and support the entire process – from scouting, acquisition case development, contacting, valuation, due diligence and negotiation, to deal closing, implementation and follow up – putting the spotlight on value creation, synergies, and operating performance. By further developing our overall M&A strategy and streamlined acquisition processes, you make sure that we’re well equipped to keep the pace and to capture opportunities in a changing business landscape. As you lead a team of M&A professionals, you set and monitor objectives, secure resources, and allow personal growth. In addition, you continuously evolve the organization’s understanding and maturity in working with inorganic growth.
Actively collaborating with our divisions, business areas and Sandvik Group, as well as executive management, functional experts, deal teams, advisors and other key stakeholders, you ensure an effective and speedy approach for each project – including oversight of workstreams and tasks – to achieve the best results. To enable future acquisitions, you also network with potential acquisition targets, keeping a strategic dialogue at executive level.
You’re a key member of the Sandvik Coromant Management Team and report to the President. The base for this job is truly flexible and international travel is normally included.
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with drive and initiative, a pragmatic business approach and broad experience from working in roles closely related to M&A and growth. You have successfully managed the full lifecycle of M&A projects – all the way from prospect to closing, including post-closing value creation and integration – and have an extensive background within corporate development, investment banking, accounting, finance, economics, or other related field. Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is of course beneficial. You have exceptional leadership, financial and analytical skills, as well as experience of deal execution and facilitation of due diligence through project management with clients, prospective sellers, and other advisors. We value a master’s, MBA, or equivalent degree within a relevant field, and as we’re a global player, you need excellent written and verbal skills in English.
Your systematic and fact-based approach, high integrity and practical business understanding are vital in this job – and you enjoy acting in a fast-paced environment where you need to prioritize and respond to changing demands from multiple sources. You always stay calm, structured and focused. You’re also very confident and clear as you work with our senior management to direct our M&A agenda by combining business strategy with deal opportunities and solid execution. On top of this, you’re truly team and people oriented, and with your open and agile mindset, you easily shape meaningful collaborations and strong networks that produce results even under time pressure.
