The VP of Engineering (VPE) leads a team of developers, engineers, and technical leaders and collaborates with product managers to improve company policies and standards.
What is expected from you
The VPE is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the product. Therefore, they should be intimately familiar with the daily status of the various projects, help unblock any roadblocks, and work with the architects to decide on and implement new technologies.
The VPE coordinates the tech leadership forum. They are deeply involved with the recruitment and training of employees. They are focused on the tasks of internal delivery, keeping the team moving.
The VPE reports to the CTO and focuses on the details of a subset of technical vision, namely the development and delivery process; this also includes people management. That means hiring, keeping, and growing the best talent, organizing the structure of the department, and overseeing programs/projects status, and budgets.
What you will work on
Managing day-to-day development tasks within the company
Setting short and medium-term goals, budgets, and team structure of the core engineering teams
Ensuring timely execution of all development projects
Initiating cross-team delivery activities
Leading the EM discipline.
Contributing to recruitment activities.
Developing standards and procedures to ensure that they are met consistently.
Preparing and optimizing budgets.
Recommending technological developments and improvements in inefficiency.
Developing the team to ensure quality end products.
