We are now recruiting a VPS (Volvo Production System, our lean foundation in Volvo) and Quality Manager for Transport Operations Europe within Group Trucks Operations in Volvo Group. Our previous VPS and Quality manager is moving on within the organization and we are now looking for his replacement. In this role, you will be pivotal to our lean journey by fostering competence, driving initiatives, encouraging collaboration, and establishing effective management structures.
Throughout 2023 and 2024 we have initiated a change in culture and improvement focus aimed at enhancing our end to end process and flow and our contribution to the overall success of our supply chain. This includes getting closer to our customers and supporting organizations in developing joint strategy plans and target images.
As we continue this journey, we aim to further enhance our lean competence and culture across the entire organization. It will be your responsibility to lead and support this effort, serving as both teacher and coach, for both the management team and the entire organization of Transport Operations Europe.
This is us
Transport Operations Europe (TOE) organization within Production Logistics Group Trucks Operations, is responsible for operating and optimizing the Volvo transport network. This includes all external logistics activities, transports to and from our Volvo plants and management of our fully own packaging pool. We are about 260 people operating and improving in close collaboration with our colleagues within Logistics, Purchasing and Plant Logistics. Together we become successful!

While doing this we strive to make our Volvo transport flows to perform on high and expected level.
In the Production Logistics organization, we have a very high focus on digitalization and data driven decisions as well as eliminating waste by digitalization maturity.
Job description:
As our VPS & Quality Manager you will be part of the management team but without direct reports. In our management team we embrace diversity and cooperation, and every day we are trying to together deliver on our commitment to create the world we want to live in. You will lead and develop the lean journey of transforming the culture and shifting the focus from internal priorities to flow-centric approach that will create more value for our internal customers and supporting them to reach excellence.
In this role, you will be key to drive the organization execution of this journey where you coordinate, inspire and challenge the members of the management team and team members in learning and applying Lean principles and leadership behaviors and skills.
You will also initiate and take responsibility for crucial improvement activities by establishing structures and support for cross-functional problem-solving and Kaizen events. Additionally, you will lead and oversee our management system and the improvement work in maintaining ISO 9001 and 14001 certificates.

Ticket to ride:
* University degree in relevant field or experience to equivalent level
* Experience from automotive production, knowledge of logistics area and the Volvo Group Business
* Knowledge and experience in working with lean methodology and quality management
* The ability to develop an excellent working climate and atmosphere in alignment with Volvo values and the Code of Conduct
* Fully proficient in English
This position will be based in Gothenburg or Gent.
