Role Purpose:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and managing the factory warehouse team to assure timely and accurate execution of all processes that take place within the warehouse. The warehouse Manager will ensure that the warehouse can deliver the required level of service, but also reduce cost through improved productivity and performance. He is also responsible for the safety and security of staff, equipment and stock.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for establishing, managing and improving warehouse processes. Oversee and direct the daily operations. Ensure processes conform to various BAT standards and requirements.
Responsible for long-term capacity planning and short-term workforce balancing to ensure that the appropriate levels of equipment and staff are available to deliver the volume requirements of the business.
Continuously monitor a range of performance metrics to ensure that the warehouse is operating effectively. Drive the warehouse to operational excellence.
Manage customer disputes. Deal with concerns flagged by a customer by taking the appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Responsible for budgeting assumptions and cost control. Improve cost-efficiency of the operations.
Driving and coordinating projects and new initiatives related to the warehouse.
Responsible for the leadership and direction of the warehouse team. Responsible for hiring, training, development and performance evaluation.
Ensure warehouse operations are complied with the applicable legislation, including construction, health and safety, manual handling, working hours, fire precautions, equipment, hazardous materials, and packaging waste. Carry out risk assessments to examine potential hazards.
Engage with suppliers and managing the relationships. Negotiate around the contracts, determining cost and performance metrics.
Perform other related duties as assigned from superior from time to time.
Qualification:
The Warehouse Manager must have an ability to negotiate, information technology skills, basic finance and business acumen, problem solving and decision making, people management skills and an ability to motivate and lead large numbers of employees. Must have a knowledge in transportation and warehousing, planning, inventory management, security and hazardous materials regulations, risk management, warehouse management systems, purchasing, international trade.
