Description of company Ericsson is shaping the future of Mobile and Broadband Internet communication through its continuous technology leadership.Providing innovative solutions in more than 140 countries, Ericsson is helping to create the most powerful communication companies in the world.The Baseband unit, within Product Development (PDU) Unit WCDMA RAN, is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Downlink and Uplink Baseband Processing subsystems (DBP and UBP) for Ericsson's 3G base stations.We are active in systemization, software design, platform design, and integration & verification.Our work also includes technology research and contributions to standardization within our competence area.Job description Our System Design department is responsible for subsystem design of the uplink component, including algorithm development.We are looking for an Algorithm Designer for WCDMA baseband with focus on the uplink of the base station.In this role, you will specify signal-processing algorithms in close cooperation with all disciplines within product development, research and standardization.The job includes algorithm development and specification, simulations and performance evaluations.Qualifications and competence Master of Science, Bachelor of Science, or equivalent field of study.Requested competence: . Mathematical background required for algorithm specification . Thorough knowledge of WCDMA signal-processing and layer 1-related functions, especially within uplink . Experience from C++ development and object-oriented development . Experience from Matlab development and simulation environment . Good writing and communicative skills in English Knowledge in the following areas is considered an advantage: . Embedded real-time systems with DSPs, FPGAs and ASICs developed in C and C++ for understanding of implementation limitations in the platform .
