Arbetsbeskrivning
As a Product Engineer your role will focus on the integration of IAR Embedded Workbench ̶ an integrated development environment (IDE) used for embedded systems development ̶ with partner tools, various standards, technologies, and RTOSes. You work in the intersection between both internal and external stakeholders, as well as between software and hardware.
Building relationships and to coordinate relevant activities is important for you as a Product Engineer. You are a problem solver who loves to identify areas for improvement and have a passion for driving action for changes.
YOU WILL
You will make sure various integrations work, and if not working, troubleshot to identify the cause of the problem. During this work, you will act as a bridge between various stakeholders. This means that you have technical discussions with our partners (mostly Arm and RISC-V silicon partners), monitor partner information channels, and learn about various interfaces and stay updated by keeping track of changes in them.
As a Product Engineer, you will also integrate support for microcontrollers in our IDE, for example to connect to microcontrollers in debug environments, flash loaders, startup-code for devices (bootloaders), etc. You will port third-party code so that it compiles using IAR Embedded Workbench. And you will test and correct problems with example packages provided by external partners.
YOU ARE
To thrive in the role as a Product engineer at IAR Systems we see that you have an interest in working with external parties in an international environment. You prefer a self-motivated way of working and you feel comfortable in initiating and proposing new technical solutions. You are talented in both customer service and detailed-oriented, analytical tasks.
Your communicative skills are important because you operate in the intersection of various domains, and because of the many different national and international contacts.
To succeed in the role we see that you have:
• Experience in embedded systems, perhaps as a developer or from school
• During your studies, you have gained an understanding of microprocessors or have gained knowledge about it during working life
• Knowledge of Phyton or any other of the most common script languages
We see it as a plus if you have:
• Familiar with board-level hardware logic
• Worked in both Linux and Windows environment
• We see it as an additional merit if you have programmed C/C++
