Wärtsilä Gas Solutions is a leading player in the global biogas upgrading market. Wärtsilä Gas Solutions is known for its unique
Puregas CApure process, which converts raw biogas into biomethane and renewable natural gas. Biogas is produced from
ood waste, sewage, manure and crops and consists mainly of methane and carbon dioxide. To improve the energy content the
gas is upgraded by removing the carbon dioxide. The upgraded biogas, biomethane, can be injected into the gas grid, used as
ehicle fuel, or used for liquefaction (LBG). Wärtsilä Gas Solutions design, assemble, install and commission CApure biogas
upgrading plants. Wärtsilä's purpose is enabling sustainable societies with smart technology. Wärtsilä Gas Solutions has over 40
upgrading plants operating and has grown rapidly in recent years.
Wärtsilä Gas Solutions is now looking for a Project Manager for its unique Puregas biogas upgrading process.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The candidate
should thrive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment while the industry and company go through substantial growth.
Preferred locations for this position is in Kalmar, Sweden
As a Project Manager you will focus on these responsibilities:
• Supervise CApure Biogas Upgrading Plant installation at project construction sites in accordance with project specifications.
Installation activities include erection of towers, placement of equipment, piping interconnection, and electrical interconnection
• Ensure that all aspects of CApure Biogas Upgrading Plant construction project are properly installed
• Provide overall leadership and administrative management for Puregas CApure plant projects to include managing scope,
requirements, schedule, cost, risk, stakeholders, quality, resources, and communication
• Manage project schedule and procurement schedule, including status communications to client
• Perform on-site commissioning of biogas upgrading process equipment during project execution
• Provide leadership with high integrity and oversight of processes, protecting intellectual property and strategic technology
• Provide oversight of fabricators and internal equipment suppliers in support of successful project execution
• Support cost control efforts and identify cost-effective solutions to project execution issues
• Establish and monitor project tasks; Assure technical excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources
• Collaborate in a team environment and/or take charge of opportunities to develop optimal solutions.
• Work in accordance with business as well as Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
• Communicate lessons learned of experiences from the project back to sales
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
• Relevant work experience in industrial construction or process industry. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical
or system Engineering, or Construction Management is preferred but not mandatory.
• 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in a larger-scale industrial or technical field
• Preferable onsite commissioning experience within the process industry
• Understanding of project engineering and construction processes.
• Proficient in MS Project and the MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work with global team from different backgrounds and in different time zones
• Maintain positive working relationships with customers, peers, subordinates, vendors, shop and office in a fast-paced environment
• Preferred location: Kalmar, Sweden
