Web Analytics & Data Engineer

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer that is eager to help Mercell to become data-driven. To succeed in this role we believe you are a problem-solver with accuracy and attention to detail.

We also see it as important that you have excellent communication and are able to engage with technical stakeholders to ensure all is aligned for the data projects to succeed.



Tasks and Responsibilities

We want to better understand our customers and provide them with more personalised products and journeys. For that, we need to learn a lot about their product usage, interaction with various features and services, and about the impact our initiatives have on their behaviour.

In this role as Web Analytics & Data Engineer you will:

- Implement and make sure the web tracking (Amplitude) across Mercell websites is properly implemented, updated and documented.
- Develop services in AWS to ingest Mercell's PII data into Amplitude.
- Engage with technical stakeholders to ensure all is aligned for the data projects to succeed.


Requirements

We are looking for someone with practical experience in a business environment influencing decision making with data. You have experience working with large datasets; particularly data mining, manipulation and exploration.

2-3 years of experience with JavaScript, SQL, Web Analytics - Amplitude or similar and scripting language (preferably Python) is required for this position.

- 2-3 years experience with JavaScript (Browser, Node isn’t required) and a good understanding of how web tracking works.
- Familiar with Web Analytics tools implementation (hands on). We use Amplitude but experience with other similar tools is acceptable.
- 2-3 years experience in SQL and Data Modeling is a must. Experience in SQL with medium/large datasets is a needed requirement.
- 2-3 years experience with at least one server side scripting language, preferable Python but not only. Experience with AWS is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and technical skills.


- Proficient in written and spoken English, and preferably a scandinavian language.
