As a Welding Engineer you will provide engineering technical advice in the welding and material area and assistance toward the solution of engineering and maintenance problems associated with the design, maintenance, repair and operation of:
- petrochemical facilities
- pulp and paper mills
- nuclear power plants



<b>Duties and Responsibilities</b>

As a member of the Welding and Materials group you will work with the complete chain from welding procedure qualifications to development of complex complete welding solutions, in many cases remote controlled. Your work will as example consist of:
- Material selection (base- and welding metal)
- Develop new and improve existing welding systems
- Develop welding instructions, procedures and complete welding qualification programs (WPQR) based on both EN and ASME standards.
- Participate in equipment fabrication / repairs / inspections failure analyses and root cause investigations
- Provide consultation on materials weldability
- Provide consultation on heat treatment
- Initiate and make formal recommendations for equipment repairs, replacement and/or possible improvement
- Support the sales departments with expertise regarding welding and material

As our main work is performed as customer projects, you will work closely to other competences from the company such as designers, structural engineers, welders and project managers. As our customers are located all over Sweden as well as on a global basis, travels will be required to some extent.

<b>Candidate Profile</b>

Master’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent degree. A Welding education IWE, IWT,(IWS) is required.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of industrial experience.
• Broad understanding of the material properties and material selection, material degradation mechanisms and welding challenges that affect integrity and reliability of the cited process industry with good appreciation of materials e.g. carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, duplex stainless steel and nickel alloys.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in material selection and specification, damage mechanisms, and failure analysis.
• Practical experience from welding is of great advantage.
• Must have excellent verbal and written skills.
• Ability to analyze technical data and problems, formulate appropriate recommendations and work independently. Initiative and strong sense of professional responsibility are considered essential.
• Business minded and excellent social skills
