Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering Paint is a department within Volvo Cars Manufacturing Engineering (ME) unit. We develop and implement quality assured, environmental conscious, and effective production systems in our Paint Shops worldwide. ME Paint Core is a Central team with 11 employees located in Gothenburg and Gent. The location for this position is in Gothenburg.
What’s in it for you?
You will take the lead of a central team with 11 team members covering different engineering skills and responsibilities being Senior Core and Simulation engineers and a technical Expert. The team prepares under your lead solutions around new processes, new materials, and customer-oriented product design in early phases. You want to make a true difference creating an improved production performance in terms of Quality, Delivery, Cost and Sustainability. With the team you define Ideal state and continuously challenge status quo with network of R&D, Suppliers and Procurement. We closely work together with the local manufacturing teams and support both programs and vision state development work.
You have an eye for standardized work and procedures and when necessary question and adapt to the need.
What will you do?
As the Senior Manager for Core Process, you will be the leader for a team that will define how our future processes in our Paint shops should be designed (lean process design / best available technology) gathering the various team competences around that task. The team mainly works and supports the programs during early phases and hands over to local Commodity and Tooling & Equipment at PS-milestone.
You continuously review and develop strategies and technical solutions to support delivering on our promise. You use enabler as CBP-teamwork, Benchmark, Advanced Engineering work together with good communication and alignment with end customer through TPC-B and Best Practice Sharing Forum.
Furthermore, you secure team agenda and workload distribution and take the responsibility for coaching them to grow, learn and to where necessary gain new knowledge to deliver on our tasks.
You display a strong leadership and common way forward – you inspire people to be courageous, bold and act.
