Quality and Plant Academy, Volvo Cars Torslanda, is a core operational function within Manufacturing Plant with the purpose to support in building quality to meet customer expectations. At Volvo Cars Torslanda, you are part of a committed production team in a global network that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. As our Superintendent at Quality, you will be part of a highly skilled team with colleagues who have both in-depth and broad expertise. You will have an important role in establishing, challenging, and creating the foundation.
What you will do
As a Superintendent Quality you will create clarity by leading and inspiring people through purpose, showing courage by taking ownership and acting with integrity and trust and empowering teams by ensuring accountability and coaching for success.
In this role you will support the daily operation in terms of quality to furthermore develop already existing processes and working methods to fulfill long-term goals concerning quality, human development, and various goals according to the overall targets set by local management and Volvo Cars Torslanda management team.
The overall mission is to focus on the customer in all situations. You must be able to build commitment to the team, drive development of the business, secure the problem solving capability of the plant being the role model in problem solving execution, and also be a part of the lean transformation. Other responsibilities include performance management, competency development, knowledge sharing and resource allocation according to requirements of the business.
You will have employees on three shifts.
Do you fit the profile
We believe you have a university degree or equivalent experience. You have a passion for cars and technology, and you are fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
To succeed in this role, we believe you have a significant leadership experience in a formal position, the ability to both lead and motivate employees together with extended knowledge in methods, tools, processes, and ways of working in the factory.
You are a strong believer in the power of people, and you hold a strategical mindset with an ambition to develop future business with a holistic view. Strong communication and collaboration skills are characteristics of yours making it easy for you to build confidence and trust at all levels in the organization. You have no problem making quick and tough decisions and you thrive in an environment where a lot happens.
Furthermore, you are truly motivated in creating an inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration, understanding and encouragement. You are a good listener who coaches, challenges, and inspires your team with an ambition of bringing out the best in your colleagues. It is easy for you to understand what needs to be done and you have the tools and the strong ability to create a well-functioning and healthy team.
