Role details:-
Both the ESV’s and LESV main job purpose is to provide technical (especially electrical) expertise during the installation and finishing phase in order to prepare the Wind Turbine / Wind Farm for commissioning. Additionally, the ESV and LESV can be involved in resolving quality deviations (de-snagging) to ensure not only a smooth handover to the customer but also a smooth operation over the Wind Turbine’s lifetime. To achieve this, all installation and finishing activities are to be executed in a safe manner considering the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
The LESV’s main job purpose is to lead and co-ordinate all ESVs on site and to provide technical (especially electrical) expertise during the installation, in collaboration with the LMSV and finishing phase in order to prepare the WT/ WF for commissioning. Specifically, the ESV and the LESV will:
· Support the Quality Manager on technical non-conformities and to ensure compliance with ‘Management of Change’ requirements for reporting, developing solutions and implementation;
· Support the Site Manager for Quality Gate 1 and incoming goods inspections;
· Assist the Site Manager, Quality Manager and Electrical PE on foundation and component electrical continuity checks;
· Support the Site Manager and Quality Manager with collating and checking for completeness, before releasing the Commissioning documentation, Statutory Inspections, and reports.
· Organise and support the Gate 23 process with the Site Manager and Quality Manager;
· Collate the necessary information for reporting and managing NCRs and Incidents in UPVISE/ServiceNow or the prevailing software management tool;
· Maintain close contact with Quality Manager for ordering and tracking missing parts and Requisition Notes (RNs);
· Responsible to submit the GCV request for Wind Turbines;
· Lead with the provided documentation for First energisation and final inspections through to Final Energization;
· Support in general terms on all electrical matters within the clients Scope of supply;
· Assume the ‘Nominated’ electrical person role as per EN 50110-1 and observe that there is always a nominated person on site
· Moreover, the LESV will be involved in resolving quality deviations (de-snagging) to ensure not only a smooth handover to the customer but also a smooth operation over the WTG’s lifetime. To achieve this, all installation and finishing activities are to be executed in a safe manner considering the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Additionally, the LESV will be involved in:
· Provide ad-hoc training to the site team and subcontractors
Skills
· Completed vocational training in Electronics/Mechatronics or similar field
· Proficiency with Health and Safety procedures/ methods such as
LOTO (lock out tag out), electrical safety, fall protection awareness, basic site induction, basic understanding of hazardous materials (MSDN)
· Familiarity with several technologies such as
Electrical systems (low, medium and high voltage), basic understanding of integrated electrical machinery & hydraulic systems, fibre optical systems.
· Familiarity with general procedures such as
Electrical installation and finishing, testing of electrical installations, quality management, phase & rotation checks and ground grid requirements
· Familiarity with several tools such as
Voltage testers, multimeters, amp clamps, infrared testers, mechanical measuring tools (e.g. digital calliper)
· Proficient computer skills utilizing
MS Office basic programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
· Good communication skills in English language (spoken and written)
· Physical requirements include the ability to climb a WT 180 meters high or taller, under variable climate conditions, without adverse effects
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and engineers
· Able to work in or lead a team
· Systematic problem-solving and safety orientated behaviour
· Delta 4000k trained absolutely necessary
· The position has a high travel requirement, both domestically and/or internationally
· Capability to comprehend and adapt to rapidly changing technologies
Experience
· For the ESV, at least 2 years experience in working with Wind Turbines. For the LESV, the same amount is required but specifically working as an ESV.
· Experience with low, medium and high voltage component systems
· In addition, the LESV must be listed as a Senior or Expert Supervisor
Required certificates and training
The following certificates and training are required prior to start of work on a construction site:
• Certificate in the standard EN 50110-1, hence qualified as an Electrically skilled person
• GWO Training Standard has to be obtained including:
o Valid first aid certification
o Fire awareness training
o Manual handling training
o Rescue and rescue at heights training
· Valid medical evaluations such as:
o Drive & control ability; G25 (valid for GER) or equivalent
o Working at heights ability; G41 (valid for GER) or equivalent
o Respiratory protective equipment; G26.1 (valid for GER) or equivalent
Noise medical checkup; G20(G20.1) (valid for GER) or equivalent
Further training will be requested to perform certain works.
