Wind Farm Mechanical Supervisor (MSV) /Lead Mechanical Supervisor (LMSV)

This project is based in Finland (Wind farm)
Both the MSV’s and LMSV’s main job purpose is to provide technical (especially mechanical) expertise during the installation and finishing phase in order to prepare the Wind Turbine/ Wind Farm for commissioning. Additionally, the MSV and LMSV can be involved in resolving quality deviations (de-snagging) to ensure not only a smooth handover to the customer but also a smooth operation over the Wind Turbine's lifetime. To achieve this, all installation and finishing activities are to be executed in a safe manner considering the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Skills
· Completed vocational training in Mechanics /Mechatronics or similar field
· Proficiency with Health and Safety procedures/ methods such as
LOTO (lock out tag out), electrical safety, fall protection awareness, basic understanding of hazardous materials (MSDN)
· Familiarity with several technologies such as
Mechanical & rotating systems, basic understanding of hydraulic systems
· Familiarity with general procedures such as
Mechanical installation and finishing, testing of mechanical installations, quality management
· Familiarity with several tools such as
Mechanical measuring tools (e.g. digital calliper), Hydraulic torquing/ tensioning tools (e.g. HyTorc, ITH)
· Proficient computer skills utilizing
MS Office basic programs (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
· Good communication skills in English language (spoken and written)
· Physical requirements include the ability to climb a WT 180 meters high or taller, under variable climate conditions without adverse effects
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and engineers
· Able to work in or lead a team
· Systematic problem-solving and safety orientated behaviour
· Strong personal planning & organisation skills
· The position has a high travel requirement, domestically and/or internationally
· Capability to comprehend and adapt to rapidly changing technologies
· Delta 4000k trained absolutely necessary
Experience
· 2 years of experience in working with Wind Turbines. For the LMSV, the same amount is required but specifically working as MSV.
· Experienced in working with crane operations (rigging and lifting)
· In addition, the LMSV must be listed as a Senior or Expert Supervisor
Required certificates and training
The following certificates and training are required prior to start of work on a construction site:
• GWO Training Standard has to be obtained including:
o Valid first aid certification
o Fire awareness training
o Manual handling training
o Rescue at heights training
· Training regarding the quality process of the Wind client's construction sites
· Instruction in the use of internal IT-systems e.g. Windchill; SAP; BIC
· Hand signals for crane operations/ banksman
· Instruction in the use of tools for generator alignment
· Instruction in the use of torquing/ tensioning tools
Additional qualification required by national law needs to be evaluated locally.
