Wiring Engineer

Who are we?

Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT) is looking for a Wiring Engineer. This position will be within Engine Design and Wiring, Powertrain Engineering - located in Gothenburg.
Engine Design and Wiring group belongs to Base Engine, which is a department of specialists within engine components development. We are responsible for the design, development, and industrialization of engine components from Advanced Engineering to product maintenance for Heavy Duty Powertrain.

What do we do?

The Wiring team is responsible for the signal harness and cables for powertrain installations such as Engine, Transmission and Aftertreatment System. We do 3D design, packaging, electrical schematics, bundle drawings and maintain the products in close corporation with our supplier. Support product builds with fault tracing, and we often visiting our factories to secure good installations.


Development and installation are done with sustainable environment in consideration. The team runs an agile set up where we build on team members strengths and complement each other to become a successful team and have fun at work.

Who are you?

We are looking for a driven and skilled Wiring engineer. You will be responsible for securing a high level on wiring design and documentation quality. This is a great opportunity for a wiring engineer that wants to contribute to shape future products in a global environment in collaboration with our colleges in France, India, Brazil and USA.

To enjoy the work in this position you need to be service-minded and helpful. Being resilient, build networks and take ownership of your deliveries. It is important that you can work independently but find joy in discussing with your peers and have excellent communication skills. You are good at problem solving, develop and share knowledge.

Relevant Experience:
University degree in electrical, mechatronic, mechanical engineering or similar with a few years of work experience
Preferable to have experience of design, develop, document, and maintain wiring harnesses and cables according to established engineering processes
Proven experience of working in Catia, Creo and Saber over the last 3 years
Interest in automotive electronics
Preferable to have experience of technical leadership and manage networking across the organization to ensure that the wiring design fulfils the business targets/requirements.
