Introduction

Are you a skilled Work Supervisor, willing to take an active role in the construction works, the operation and the maintenance associated with equipment and systems of CERN's tertiary infrastructure? Functions

As Work Supervisor, you will:
-Organise, coordinate and supervise the execution of work related to buildings and civil engineering industrial and tertiary infrastructures on concrete and metal.
-Be in charge of launching and monitoring interventions on infrastructure waterproofing and roofing.
-Coordinate various building trades and ensure day-to-day supervision of contractors on site.
-Adjust the planning with respect to the actual status of works and report on changes.
-Supervise the execution schedules and monitor budgets, including verification of quotations, quantities surveys and invoices.
-Ensure that work is carried out in compliance with Safety rules & standards, as well as with technical specifications and good trade practices.
-Prepare and carry out the acceptance tests at the completion of the works.
-Regularly report on the activities supervised.

Qualifications
Higher technical diploma in the field of civil works, construction or a related field.

Experience:

Significant experience in construction worksite supervision (civil works, roofing, interior work) and construction economy (quotations, quantities surveys).

Proven experience on supervision of major work or projects, requiring coordination of various trades and contractors.

Technical competencies:
-Knowledge of building construction, consolidation and renovation: including maintenance technics and Safety aspects.
-Organisation, planning and control: in particular work planification and quotation.
-Knowledge of technical standards for construction work and structural design (SIA standards, Eurocodes, etc.).

-Demonstrating Flexibility: adapting quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities and requirements.

-Managing Self: working well autonomously; taking on activities and tasks without prompting.

Language skills:

Spoken and written English or French: ability to understand and speak the other language in routine situations.
