The Arrowhead design pillars mean creating games that have believable world design, gameplay that creates social connections between players and a playful approach to the game where you feel as if you are immersed in a fantasy. Arrowhead is looking for world designers to act upon these pillars in developing the studios future AAA console title.

Your contribution
- Work with designers, artists, and engineers to create interesting worlds and memorable game experiences.
- Build and design level and world components.
- Participate in design meetings to help shape and give feedback on the entire game experience.
- Use internal tools for prototyping and tuning gameplay mechanics.
- Work with and master our internal non-visual scripting languages.
- Coordinate procedural generation of worlds from a design and technical perspective.
- Gather and implement feedback through iteration.
- Develop and develop complex world generating features.

Being open to the game vision is a key factor and this means taking design direction, and working with feature teams to brainstorm and come up with creative solutions. To achieve development goals you will need an ability and a willingness to learn new tools, new scripting languages and middleware applications.

Being kickass and hardworking at Arrowhead means being able to handle deadlines and taking personal responsibility to finish tasks in a timely manner. Having an agile mindset will also be necessary as priorities will change with iteration on the project.

Requirements
- At least 5 years experience of level or game design.
- Experience shipping at least one previous AAA-title.
- Previous experience working with different game editors
- Good collaboration and communication skills with a cooperative attitude
- Proficient in one or more game editors such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Good understanding of game design fundamentals and what makes worlds impressive but also interesting to explore.
- Scripting experience, preferably non-visual scripting like LUA, json, XML, etc.
- Constructive teamwork attitude
- Experience of working in designer roles with significant contribution to gameplay.
- Ability to manage hard deadlines while adjusting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Understand how to convey information and player interactions intuitively via gameplay


Practical information
Scope: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Permanent employment at the studio.

Location: Stockholm, Hammarby Sjöstad
